Background: |
ATG8A is a component of autophagy conjugation pathway. Delivered to the lumens of vacuole under nitrogen-starvation condition. Highest expression in flowers. mRNA abundance increased during dark-induced carbon starvation. Predominantly cytoplasmic with or without N starvation. Upon concanamycin A the protein accumulates in the central vacuole as punctuate structures that resemble autophagic bodies. This localization is more abundant upon N starvation. The mRNA is cell-to-cell mobile. |
